Last Saturday, we went at Hi Rice! Grill at Dela Paz, Marcos Highway for a dinner buffet. Actually, I always pass by this place for almost 2 years when I go to work but I never really tried dining at this place until last Saturday.
Looking for a good place to dine, we decided to dine here since their buffet for Php299 is so affordable for us. We came here at around 7pm already (buffet starts at 5:30pm) and we already made a reservation earlier through Facebook. There were really lots of customers that time so good thing, we already reserved a table for 4 of us.
Kudos to the staffs as they were really accommodating and attentive to our needs. (I actually came here 30mins ahead from my friends so I had to wait alone on the table. One of the staffs were very kind to enough as she told me exactly, "Ma'm pwede ka na magstart.. or kahit inom ka muna tubig okay lang po un". As much as I really wanted to start to eat, I refused to since I was still waiting for my friends. Wala lang, just the mere offering of water felt good for me as a customer.)
Place is actually divided into 3 areas, I believe and there were lots of chairs and tables to accommodate lots of customers.
The food area was placed on one side.
Here are the foods that were served that night:
They served only 3 pasta dishes that night.
Next is the drinks area.
Here are the desserts area.
And lastly, here is the area where you can make your own Mongolian rice.
Here are the dishes/desserts/foods/drinks they served that night: (**I'll only be sharing my thoughts on what I ate that night)
Vietnamese Fried Chicken
Korean Pork Stew
- According to my friend, their Korean Pork Stew was really yummy.
Chicken Stroganoff
Pork with Tausi
Chicken Bulgogi
Kare Kare
On my plate:
Breaded Fish Fillet
- It was okay, nothing extraordinary. The mayo was a bit sour for my taste. Better if served hot.
Buttered Vegetables
- Their buttered veggies was creamy and I liked it.
Shanghai Fried Rice
- I like that it that the rice was cooked well and very tasty
Carbonara
- Very saucy (as in masabaw) and bland.
Baked Mac
- Not my perfect Baked Mac but it was better than the Carbonara.
Maki
- Nothing special but it was okay. Made me full.
Sweet & Spicy Mongolian Rice
- A MUST TRY!! I totally love love love their DIY Mongolian Rice especially this sweet & spicy one. (You can actually choose your own flavor/taste of Mongolian Rice. The photo above will help you with your DIY Mongolian Rice). The rice was very tasty and flavorful. The sweet & spicy flavor really gave that perfect kick to my tastebuds.
Pink Lemonade
Chocolate & Vanilla Ice Cream
- One of the staffs will give you a cup of ice cream for this one. I like the chocoate better than the vanilla.
DIY Halo Halo
- Looks good right? Taste is.. okay. Haha I dunno if because we lack milk or sugar on this one but the "sahog" itself needs more improvement. We thought?
Other Desserts:
- I love the Banana Cake a lot and one of the back part (dunno the name), super delish! :)
Overall, some dishes were really good and some were just okay. A 50-50 when it comes to quality of foods served but super worth it when it comes to price (Php299 lunch & dinner buffet). Will I comeback? With the affordability, quantity and vicinity, Yes. Maybe. :)
