That UNPLANNED beach trip with my Kiseeeg friend, Grace. I've been looking forward to a beach trip this year but it's just so hard to find a friend(s) that would accompany me to this kind of trips (plus the different schedules). So when Grace asked me to travel to a nearby beach, I immediately agreed. We looked for DIY trips to the nearest beach in Manila and found one in Liwliwa Zambales.
Liwliwa Zambales is one of the most famous surfing spots that are near Manila, with just 3-4 hours travel time. It's the perfect getaway if you just want to chill in a quiet but long stretch beach of Liwliwa. Also, most of the accommodations here are very much affordable.
HOW TO GO LIWLIWA ZAMBALES:
We met at Victory Liner Cubao at around 5:30 am and rode a bus going to Victory Liner Olongapo at 6AM. We were supposed to ride the Iba, Zambales bus at 5am (straight trip) but I was late (as usual). The next bus trip to Iba Zambales was at 7am so we decided to ride the Olongapo one (2 trips). After 2 hours, we arrived at Olongapo bus station at around 9am and immediately, rode a Sta.Cruz or Iba Zambales bus waiting at the terminal. We asked to be dropped off at San Felipe. It was a 1 1/2 hour bus trip. At San Felipe, you'll immediately see the tricycle terminal going to Liwliwa. Asked the driver to be dropped off at your resort.

WHERE WE STAYED:
At around 11am, we check in at Beach Haven Camp Site which is famous for their affordable Tee Pee huts. We just walk in and was immediately greeted by Ate Grace who is the owner of the place. She's so witty, funny and accommodating to us. (It is advisable to book in advanced especially during peak season and walk ins are not allowed). It wasn't peak season and it was weekday when we went there so we were able to check in immediately. Rate is P2000/tee pee hut/ good for 2 pax.
CHECK THEIR FACEBOOK HERE: https://www.facebook.com/havencampsiteliwliwa/
They have A LOT of Tee Pee Huts available. Each equipped with electric fans, beddings, towels, mosquito net and outlets. Breakfast is also included.
Other areas: Receiving area. Chill areas.
Since it's a weekday and there is not much tourist in the place, the only available OPEN to order foods is the MOMMY PHOEBE's. They have silogs, lutong bahay meals, shakes, drinks and every thing you need in their store. So here's where we ate during our stay. ALL MEALS ARE VERY MUCH AFFORDABLE for me (given that it's a tourist area).
THE BEACH.
We chose the BEACH HAVEN CAMPSITE not only it is affordable but because their place is beachfront. Just a few walks away from the shore you can see long stretch of beach in San Felipe Liwliwa Zambales. They have a greyish sand with mix of stones.
At around 5-6pm, we just swam and chill by the beach. Sunsets are the best!
Until it started to rain at around 6pm, so we had to go back to our place. (I forgot to bring my umbrella!) haha
We took a bath and ate dinner at Mommy Phoebe's at around 8pm.
Back to our huts at around 9pm. We bought San Mig light and went near the shore but there were a lot of mosquitoes so we just went back to chill at the hammocks near our huts. It was supposed to be a peaceful chill night until their neighbors started to sang the karaoke for hours! I was expecting that people in the provinces slept early but giiiirl, the karaoke stopped at around 12am! Haha. Although, it was okay since we just find it funny and jammed along with the songs.
Had a little beach swim at around 8am and ate breakfast at 9am. We thought that maybe some of the famous food spots might be open so we walk and explored the area again. But all of them were closed so we decided to have an early lunch at Mommy Phoebe's again.
Ate Grace was so kind enough to allow us to extend until 2pm but we sadly declined her offer since we needed to be back in Manila early. We check out at around 12nn.
A few MORE photos before we checked out.
The trip is almost the same. We rode a trike going to Bayan the from Bayan we waited for a bus going to Victory Liner Olongapo. Rode a bus again going to Victory Liner Cubao. We arrived in Manila at around 4pm.
Even though it's just an overnight trip, I felt like we did a lot of things. We were able to explore the place, swam a lot, took a lot of photos and videos plus lots of chill time! FYI: I was 36 hours+ during the Day 1 and I can't believe that my energy was so high that lasted all day!
I had a very good chill experience here will definitely be back! :D
