Looking for a good place to eat in Cubao, we came across the new
Manhattan building outside Gateway. We stumble across Giovanni’s Bar Ristorante which offers
Italian dishes and pizza.
Place is simple, clean and has lots of tables and chairs to
accommodate and a small 2nd floor for more customers. We are greeted
by their staff upon entering the restaurant.
Menu was handed to us upon seating and honestly, they offer lots
of dishes on their menu making it hard for me to decide on what to order. After maybe 10-15 minutes, here’s what we
ordered:
Lasagna
(Php280)
-The lasagna was huge given the price. Creamy, cheesy and tasty. Though
I felt “umay” half way already. I suggest that they should include toasted
bread on their dish as well as they should also improve on the presentation to
look more appetizing. They lasagna served looked so simple for me.
Strozzapreti
Giovanni (Php350)
“Strozzapreti
pasta with seafood in eggs and cheese based sauce”
-I like that this one’s tastier than it seems and one can really
taste the clams included. I don’t know what cheese they used for this but I was
looking for more cheese flavor. The hand-rolled strozzapreti pasta was thick,
cooked well and made us full.
We didn’t order the pizza since we were already full from these
2 dishes. According to the staff who attended us, each dish is good for 2
persons but still depends. Overall, we had a good time dining here though the
ambiance seems gloomy (maybe because we were the only customer around and only
saw 2 staffs despite that the place was big). Would like to come back here
again sometime J

In the search of different whitening soaps, I came across one of
the newest in the market which is formulated from Korea. I’m talking about the Jinju White Soap
which I’ve seen a lot online. I have read a few reviews online and so far, most
of them had a positive reaction so I was so excited to try this.
To begin with I have a fair skin I have an uneven skin tone. My face
is much whiter than the rest of my body and I believe that using whitening soap
gives a permanent result. Glad that Cheska’s Store sent me the newest whitening
product, the Jinju White soap to try. I had 4 soaps with me and for this
review, and I consumed 2 bars for my whole body while I cut the other soaps
into smaller pieces for my face.

To Use:
1.Wet the skin
2.Apply Jinju White Soap gently on the face and body
3.Make a lather and leave product for at least 3 minutes
4.Rinse
5.Use every time you shower for best results
Result:
-Please take note that I already consumed 2 bars for my body and
half bar for my face.
-For face: At first, there was a bit of tingling sensation on my
face. I love that my skin feels soft and moisturize after use. Scars, blemishes
and hyper pigmentation can still be seen on my face though it lightens a bit.
-For body: I noticed immediate whitening effects after use. I
love that this moisturizing on the skin. And took me 3 weeks before I consumed
1 bar of soap for the body. Already see the glow and whitening effects on my
body in a month of use.

After consuming 2 bars of soap for my body and half bar for my face, I say that
Jinju White soap works well on my skin! I love how I immediately saw the
whitening effects in a month of use and glad to say that they are permanent
results. I love how it gives my skin a creamy glow and the best thing is that
this doesn’t dissolve easily. When it comes to whitening, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
this Jinju White Soap as an EFFECTIVE whitening soap.

Essentials came up with a new whitening soap which I’m so excited to share
with you. Right after trying out the Lily’s Touch Miracle Soap in April, I
immediately tried this Belo
Intensive Whitening Bar. I’ve been fond of using Kojic Acid (which
inhibits melanin production) for years and guess what they included on this
soap? Yes, you’re right. Also included is the Tranexamic Acid which also
inhibit melanin production and get rids of dark spots.
Active
ingredients: Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Tranexamic Acid and Kojic
Acid Other ingredients: Coconut Oil,
Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Glucono-delta-lactone, Sodium Lactate,
Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, D and C Orange
4 (CI15510), Lotus Flower Extract
Packaging:
This comes in a white and orange box. I can’t remember if the soap has a
plastic. The soap in is orange color just like the normal Kojic or papaya
soaps.
How
to use: You can use this bar for the face and body twice daily. There may be slight stinging and itchiness as the actives work in
exfoliating the skin.Discontinue other whitening
brands one week prior to use as this may not be compatible with Belo Intensive
Whitening Bar.If prolonged irritation
occurs, discontinue use.

my body)

Pros:
-Brightens my skin after 7 days (minimal)
-Readily available
-No irritation on my skin
-I love the papaya scent
Cons:
-Consumed the whole bar in 7 days (1-2x a day of use)
-Small bar of soap
-A bit drying on the skin
-A bit pricey for a bar of soap that only lasted for a week
-Not recommended for dry skin
Verdict:
After consuming 1 bar of soap, I did notice that it brightens my skin after 7
days or right after I consumed 1 bar of soap. It didn’t really give off that
whitening result that I want but it gives my skin glow. The soap is a bit
drying (which is not a problem for me) so I highly suggested using a lotion
right after bath. For facial use, I don’t recommend this to dry and sensitive skin
since I think this “might” irritate your skin. I feel bad that this soap on
lasted for a week with 1-2 x a day of use given the price of almost Php60. Will
I recommend this? Maybe. If you’re willing to buy at least 2-3 soaps of Belo
Intensive Whitening Bar in a month then use it for your body, then why not. I believe
that soaps give off permanent result if used for a longer period.

Hello to a Mexican –
Filipino restaurant in Marikina, Casamigos
Cantina which is located along Olive Street in Concepcion Dos. Going to their restaurant isn’t that hard as
you may ride a jeepney of fx going to SSS Village and asked to be dropped off
at Olive St. corner Cherry.
I’ve been passing this restaurant for a few times and was planning
to dine here when Zomato invited me
for foodie meetup at Casamigos Cantina few weeks ago. Yay! Also, I know I’m
that active with food posts lately so I’m glad to still be part of this foodie
community. J
Anyway, so Casamigos Cantina ‘s place has this chill vibes with
Mexican decors all over. Also, the place is very spacious with a bar and mini
indoor and outdoor dining area. It can really accommodate lots of customers so
don’t hesitate to bring your family and friends. I think it’s better to go here
around night time as one can see the beauty of the place through the lights.

Chimichangas
–So
I’m starting this review with one of my FAVORITE among all!! Took one bite and
fell in love with the taste. This LARGE burrito plus the meat, veggies, rice
and mild sauce included compliments very well. It was tasty, yummy and would
make one full. Servings are good for 2-3 I guess.
Fish
Tacos
– Also one of my fave! It is very crunchy and tasty. I love the
green sauce/dip included as it compliments well witt the tacos.
Crocodile Sisig (Php345)
– It’s actually my first time tasting a Crocodile Sisig and
at first, I tell you, I didn’t noticed that it was a crocodile meat. It tastes
like the usual sisig but less greasy. It was more tasty and flavorful. Better pair
with a beer or any alcoholic drinks you may order at Casamigos.
Macho Platter (Php699)
– Great pulutan I guess! I like that it is consists of 4
different foods (Grilled Pork Ribs, Quesadillas, Nachos and Grilled Pork Meat) that
compliments well. I think it’s a great choice if you have friends to share with
this.
Coco Flan con Sorbetes
- I like that this has the right amount of sweetness in it and a great dessert after eating Mexican dishes. Though I think the serving is only good for 1.
Overall, the whole dining experience at Casamigos Cantina is great. The foods
served were superb and can’t believe I only knew it until today. I think it’s
one of the best Mexican restaurant/place in Marikina so far and will recommend
to this everyone. Can’t wait to back again with my friends! J
