It was in 2015 when I first visited Fat Daddy's Smokehouse in Marikina. It was also that year when they first opened their doors to the public and glad that they expanded and I believe that they now have a branch in UP Town Center in Katipunan. I believe this branch in Marikina is now called Fat Daddy's Express. I think they downgraded their branch here and opted to focus more on their branch in Katipunan.
We went back here during a weekday afternoon and surprised to see that it's still opened. There's still a security in the place and this time, the place already has an air conditioning system. The place is almost the same and we're the only customers around.
They have a separate menu which I forgot to take photo but they also have the menu written on the blackboards.
Here's what we ordered:
Bacon Carbonara Pasta (Php170)
- The pasta was as bit hard, not sure if it was cooked well. The carbonara was creamy and I love the flavor.
Chicharonnes (Php135)
- Not my order but surprisingly I liked this better than the pasta that I ordered. It has that right amount of crispiness, not too hard for my liking. The vinegar along with it was perfect for this! MUST TRY!
Cheese Quesadilla (Php135)
- Their quesadilla was a bit thin and there wasn't much cheese. The taste was okay and a little bit spicy because of the green pepper. The dip was okay but hoping for more serving of their dip.
Bacon and S'mores Dip (Php150)
- The graham cracker dipped in the melted marshmallow and bacon on top. This one of their best sellers if I can remember it clearly and ordered this again just because I miss the taste. It's still the same taste, very sweet and yummy! A bit small in serving but it you're not really into sweets (like me), this is good for sharing. Good thing that they reduced the price from P200 now to Php150 which is more reasonable.
Overall, I think I enjoyed my dining here now compared to 2015. Now, the place was way less crowded and they have an aircon already. Most said that they downgraded their menu here, even their best sellers but it's okay for me. I find the price way better and more reasonable. The foods were good.
