Last February 2025, we went on a 3D2N trip to Baguio City—yes, again! If you’ve been following my blog or YouTube, you probably know by now that my yearly Baguio tradition started way back in 2016. I had plans to return in 2020, but the pandemic put those on hold. I finally made it back for my birthday last year, and of course, I couldn’t resist going again this year!
I really miss the cold weather, the food, and the laid-back lifestyle in Baguio. One of the reasons I keep coming back is to experience how the city feels during different months—each visit brings a unique vibe, especially with the changing weather. It’s like rediscovering Baguio all over again every time.
Baguio City, located in the province of Benguet, is known to have a coolly climate because of its geography. It’s basically located in the northern part of the Philippines, up in mountains of Benguet.
Having visited Baguio many times, I’ve become quite familiar with some of the places around the city. When it comes to accommodation, I usually go for budget-friendly options like transient houses, since we’re mostly out exploring and don’t spend much time indoors. However, finding a place that’s both affordable and safe has become a bit tricky over the years.
For this trip, I wanted to try a different accommodation. I was looking for a much cheaper but value for money place. I saw the JENCAS PLACE in the Airbnb but messaged them thru their Facebook pageinstead.

They’re located at Summer Pines Residences along Marcos Highway, just an 5-7 minute drive (2.5km from SM Baguio) from the city center. It’s a very accessible and convenient place to stay.

Check in at 2pm - check out at 11am. Paid Php 1,500/night for 2pax.
I originally booked a 4D3N stay at their accommodation but ended up staying only for 3D2N. The reason was that they didn’t allow early check-in—which is common among accommodations and transients in Baguio. I had planned to arrive in the city early, but unfortunately couldn’t find any short-term place to stay while waiting for check-in time.
We booked the place a month before arriving in Baguio. The owner was so accommodating to my querries. A day before the check in time, one must pay in full. Then they'll send you the code for the self check in.
We arrived at around 4 AM and were able to check in right away. The unit is located on Basement 5—the lowest floor of the building—and is a loft-type room, ideal for two people or more. It’s fully equipped with amenities including a refrigerator, utensils, microwave oven, TV with Netflix, Wi-Fi, electric stove, water heater, towels, and a shower with heater.
They got a huge bed at the upper floor and a convertible sofa than can turn into bed. You can make the sofa at the living room into the bed.
The loft features a large bed on the upper level and a convertible sofa in the living area that can be turned into a bed—perfect for accommodating extra guests or simply lounging comfortably.
The place is nice and complete. One of the reasons I choose this is the security 24/7. The place is the same as I expected.
However, I honestly felt a bit suffocated at times, as there were no open windows or natural airflow in the unit. Being located on the very bottom floor, it lacked ventilation, and I couldn’t help but feel slightly uneasy knowing there were multiple floors above us. It made the space feel a bit enclosed and heavy at times.

The building has a balcony with a nice view, but you’ll need to step outside to fully appreciate it. Overall, it’s a great place to stay—recommended if you’re looking for affordable accommodation with complete amenities and 24/7 security, and don’t mind not having a direct Baguio view from the room.
