FOODTRIP(142): Food Alley Marikina

While looking for a good place to eat in Marikina one night, I suddenly came across a colorful new food truck located in Marikina Heights. A few weeks before they officially opened, we had a chance to dine in at Food Alley Marikina and really enjoyed our stay.

This food truck is located at Bayan Bayanan Ave., in Marikina Heights, Marikina City. Place maybe a bit hard to find for someone who isn’t familiar with the place but the landmark is in Meralco Marikina. If you’re coming from Cubao or Katipunan, you may ride a jeepney or fx with SSS Village or Parang Molave signage and asked to be dropped off at Meralco. Look for the 711 Store or Jollibee and just walk straight ahead Bayan Bayanan Ave. If still confused, better ask someone around. And if all else fails, you may also ride a tricycle instead.

Food Alley Marikina officially opened last February 28, 2017. Avoiding lots of people, we opted to visit this food park a day after their opening. We came around dinner time and there were few customers around.

Place reminds me of a small carnival since the interiors are really colorful, lots of lights around and there’s even a playground for kids inside. Once you get inside, you’ll see that this place is very spacious and they even have a 2nd floor to accommodate more customers.

There are actually lots of stalls to choose from. All the food stalls are complimenting each other since every stalls has its own specialty. It’s really hard to decide what to eat but here’s what we ordered:

KingBapwhich offers Korean cuisine

Korean Samgyupsal KS1 (Php250)
Sliced fresh pork belly with potato marbles, kimchi, lettuce, ssamjang

-          In love with Korean dishes, I decided to order here again at King Bap. We actually ordered Bibimbap, Bulgogi and Tteokbokki when we went here the first time. Sadly, I didn’t brought my camera so I have no photos to share L Anyway, their samgyupsal was good. The pork belly was fresh as well as their lettuce. Their red paste was okay but I was still looking for more of that sweet and spicy taste. Serving size was good for sharing but I think it was just enough for a single person. Price is okay for me.

Mr. Crab and Friends offers crabs, shrimps and sea foods

Buttered Garlic Crab (2-3pax - Php380)

- I was only able to taste a small part of this (since I have a seafood allery L) but hey, it was sooooo delish!!! The crab was cooked well and I love the buttery taste of it. My friends who ordered this LOOOOOVE this so much.

Sizzling Gambas Shrimp with Chili Butter Sauce (P145)

-          Same as the buttered garlic crab, I love the buttery taste of the gambas. It was delish, yummy and really mouth-watering taste of gambas. Servings were a lot given the price. Worth it!

The Cargopasta and ribs

Captain Rib Eye Steak (Php280)

-          I wasn’t able to taste this one but my friend thinks this is one of the best steak ever. It was easy to slice, soft and delish. Serving size is huge given the price.

Core Freeze – serves ice cream and nitrogen smokes

Nitrogen Smoke (6pcs – Php90)

-          It’s actually my first time trying a nitrogen ice cream so I was kinda confused why they gave us a cake on a stick. So we dipped the cake on the nitrogen for about 2 seconds and ate it. The cake became hard like a biscuit and it was really fun to eat it since there’s a smoke coming out of our mouth and nose. We actually just kept to laughing while eating this. Yay! 6pcs for P90? Worth the fun J

Juice Colored affordable drinks

Berry Lychee and Blue Lemonade for sharing (Php100 each)

-          I wasn’t able to taste the blue lemonade but I love the Berry Lychee flavor.

Overall, we really had a nice time dining in here at Food Alley. The place was awesome and fun. It’s a actually a good place to bring your family and friends. There were variety of stalls to choose from and I still wanna try other foods there so I will definitely come back here soon! J

  1. I'm so wanting to visit more food parks :) I don't really frequent the Marinika area but I'll definitely remember this one to check when I go there. :)
