Located hidden in Marikina, we’ve come to this place, Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse, near/back of St. Scho Marikina so I was kind of familiar with the place already. Going to the place is a bit tricky so for those who’s not familiar with the location here’s a guide.

Ride a jeepney/fx with SSS Village sign and ask to be dropped at Meralco. Look for the tricycle terminal (yellow tricycle) as ask to be dropped off at Dao St or at Fat Daddy’s. The one I rode with knew the location Fat Daddy’s so we didn’t encountered any problems.

Place is located in a residential area maybe that’s why I noticed that they have a security in the place. Ambiance is nice even though the place is not air-condition. We came during night time and on a weekday and there weren’t much people around. Menu is seen from the counter and you have to pay first for your orders. There were a lot of yummy foods on the menu to choose from so we had a hard time deciding on which to order.

Here’s the menu: (grabbed from: https://www.zomato.com/manila/fat-daddys-smokehouse-marikina-heights-marikina-city/menu#tabtop)

But here’s what we ordered:

Smoked Grilled Pork Chops (Php 250)

Smoked Grilled Chicken BBQ (Php 200)

- Both foods have a BIG servings and they’ve really given us quality food that is reasonable for the price. Also both Pork Chops and Chicken BBQ has that yummy distinct flavorful taste. You’ll really know that they really have an original menu for this :)

Extra Mashed Potato
- I think their mashed potato needs more flavor or salt because it’s taste too bland for me

Bacon and Smores Dip (Php200)

- The best smores I’ve ever tasted!!! Might be a bit pricey but definitely worth the money. The graham cracker dipped with the melting marshmallow and melted chocolate at the bottom part was really yummy! Might look big in photos but actually serving is smaller than what you think. But worth the price :) Really must try! :)

Overall, I think I still want to try more from their menu but I’m still in between since foods are a bit pricey for me. Yes, foods are definitely worth it since servings are really big and foods are very distinct and yummy but I’m on the cheaper-price-of-foodies-side. But this is something worth to try for :) Might come back for more :)

A few months ago, our company doctor did highly suggest us this cafe in a hospital since she knew that I was fond of food tripping in Marikina. Qizia Cafe is located at SDS Medical Center compound in Katipunan Extension Concepcion Dos Marikina.

Accompanied by some of my friends, we tried this cafe on one rainy afternoon. Place was very decent and has that nice ambiance.

Upon seating, menus were given to us. I was really wowed on their menu as the prices were very cheap, far from what I expected especially after seeing the place.

Here’s the menu:

By the way, at first we thought that waiters are to get your orders but we were wrong. Haha. To order, you need to go to the cashier/counter first before they deliver your foods. :)

Here’s what we ordered:

Carbonara (Php135)

- Their Carbonara is very creamy and yummy. Serving was really big and just enough for my hunger. What I did noticed is that, the pasta tastes really good but afterwards there is this “umay” factor along the way. I was able to finish my meal but I was craving something sweet afterwards.

Seafood Pasta (Php145)

- Their Seafood pasta is the tastiest and the best one for me. Very flavorful and yummy.

Creamy Chef’s Delight (Php145)

- This dish tastes like carbonara somehow but with a twist. It has this distinct after taste I can’t describe.

Hawaiian Pizza (Php150)

- I really liked their pizza a lot. Even though they use a thin pizza crust, I liked that they gave a lot of toppings that is quite flavorful. My friend says this is too sweet for her but for me, I liked the combination of the cheese along with the sweetness of the pineapple.

Oreo Cheesecake (Php95)

- A must try!! I also liked their Oreo Cheesecake a lot especially that I was really looking for a “pantangal umay” after eating Carbonara. Too sweet for me but I loved it!

Iced Tea (Php35)

More photos of us :))

What I didn’t like about it is that I really want to try their Braso De Mercedes a lot but I find it too expensive. :( (Priced at Php130)

Overall, I was very satisfied with my dining experience at Qizia Cafe. I like the place, foods and price. Prices was really worth the money since their servings were more than what you paid for. Totally recommended and will definitely comeback again :)

One of the newest foodies at Lilac Street, we tried Brad and Pit’s Ribshack located near the border/bridge of Marikina and Antipolo, just below Cookie Mug.

I was impressed by this Cuban themed place as they designed it with lots of vintage stuff along with different quotes written all over the place. The place might look small when viewed outside but they actually have more seats inside to accommodate every customers.

Their menu is written on a blackboard and it’s a self-service dining. They serve ribs, wings, sandwich, pasta and also some milkshakes.

Here’s what we ordered:

Carribean Wings Combo with rice side (Php149)

-   This Carribean wings combo is a must. It includes 4 pieces of wings which has a very distinct taste and best dipped with their Aioli dip.

Spicy Barby with rice side (Php149)

-    This is really yum yum! The ribs tastes quite delightful and very Mexican as my friend says.

The servings were also big that we end up ordering another extra rice. :)

But at first I was a bit disappointed because I thought that the serving was small since they’re using a small plate. But actually the serving is quite worth itfor the price but then I suggest for them to have bigger plates so that the serving size doesn’t look too small.

Overall, I was impressed on how distinct is the taste on this restaurant especially with other competitors in Lilac Street. If you wanna try something different along Lilac Street, this is something I highly suggest:)

A few weeks ago, I went to MOA for a transaction. Since MOA is really big place, we had a hard time deciding where to eat. Until the Italian Restaurant, Gotti’s Ristorante quite attracted us.

Place was a bit small and hot when we went there. I think the air-condition was off and they were only using an electric fan instead. Maybe because we went there on a weekdays so they turned the aircon off, I really don’t know. :(

Upon seating, servers immediately handed us the menu.

Here’s what we ordered:

Classic Lasagna (Php248)

Garlic Shrimp Pasta (Php180)

Margherita Pizza (Php250) and Fresh Lemonade (Php78)

I’ve read reviews that foods was really great but I honestly didn’t enjoyed the foods that much. Lasagna was good but nothing extraordinary. Though Garlic Shrimp Pasta was quite yummy. While the crust of the Margherita Pizza so thin and taste was simple. But I did like the sour taste of Fresh Lemonade they had. :)
