Having an oily skin is really tough especially when it comes to maintaining a make up. There are pros and cons in having an oily skin. My face usually oils up 1 hour after I put on my makeup. Usually I do wash my face after an 8 hour shift and put on another makeup for the next 8 hour shift. (I usually work 16 hour shift per day). I always have to do this since after 4-5 hours of wearing makeup, my face oils up a lot. I remembered as one of my friends at work once told me, “Ayy oily ka pala.. Akala ko sadyang makeup lang un shiny/oily face.. Parang sa korea. Akala ko dewy look lang”. Yes, I think I may live up to the natural-dewy-look-trend but I hate it when my face oils up :(
It was in 2015/2016 when I first got interested with beauty, makeup and blogging that I came across the Quickfx No Shine Mattifier which many raved about. I got my first sachet at the nearest Watson’s in my place. I believe it was always out of stock before but glad that they are widely available now departments stores and Watson's.
Quick FX No Shine Mattifier absorbs oil to control shine for a smooth and matte finish, and conceals fine lines and pores for visibly radiant skin instantly! It helps to hide imperfections such as fine lines and pores while providing an exceptional smooth matte finish. It also helps prevent and treat pimples without drying the skin. It has Salicylic acid, chamomile, tea tree extract and matte wax. I know for sure that Salicylic acid and tee tree are good for pimples.
It comes in a 10g sachet (Php89) and 30g tube (Php279). Glad that they finally launched the tube size last year. I immediately bought it the after they announced the new packaging. haha Though I used the sachet one for a year or so and I can easily finish 1 sachet in 1-2 months. I still use the first tube I bought last June 2017 with at least 4-5x uses in a month. (I only use this when I go out or if I have an event to attend to.)
How to Use:
After washing my face, I put on 2-3 pea sized cream on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. It also helps to cover the huge pores on my nose and other parts.
Review:
Pro’s:
- Matte and smooth on skin
- Non greasy, very light on the face
- Good oil control
- Made my foundation/makeup last longer
- Easy to put on your kikay kit
- Affordable for a primer
Cons:
- None
Been using this primer for years already and I can say that this product really works well on my oil skin. It was able to hold my makeup and prevents oil for more than 12 hours. I prefer the tube since it really last long for me (been using the same tube for 10 months already with 5-6x a use per month). I prefer not to use this everyday (because I'm very matipid haha) and to let my skin breath from primers. I'm still trying other affordable primers on the market but so far this is the best and affordable one for me.

I'm not sure if they changed the formula now since the new version's consistency reminds me paste and the scent smells different. Though it's still the same when it comes to oil control. I also noticed that I need to apply more product than the usual compared to the old version wherein a little goes a long way.
NEW FORMULA:
OLD FORMULA:
It feels powdery, smooth and matte when applied on the skin.
How to Use:
After washing my face, I put on 2-3 pea sized cream on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. It also helps to cover the huge pores on my nose and other parts.

Here’s 12 hours after WITHOUT using Quickfx:
vs. 12 hours WITH Quickfx:
These photos are my everyday makeup look 12 hours after I applied Maybelline FIt Me! Foundation. Pleas take note that I'm working on an air conditioned environment. I don’t know if you can see the difference in the photos but I think Quick FX was able to limit the oil on my face for 12 hours. Yes, it is still oily but not “that” oily compared without the product itself.
