We visited Eri Curry in SM Megamall for a dinner few days ago. Been here last year and I was quite impressed with their curry that’s why I came to dine here again.

What I like about Eri Curry is you can actually customize your curry! :)

First is to choose your curry plate.
Second, you can choose your rice quantity. You can choose among Small (200g - less Php21.75), Regular (300mg) or Large (400g - add Php21.75). (**I recommend ordering large 400g :))
Third, you can choose the level of spiciness with just right, spicy or fiery.
Lastly, you can even add toppings along with your curry plate.

Here’s what we ordered:

Fried Gyoza Curry with regular rice and just right amount of spiciness (Php250)

Fried Fish Curry with regular rice and Spicy amount of spiciness (Php220)

- I actually ordered the Fried Gyoza Curry before and I was quite impressed with the combination of the fried gyoza along with the curry and some cheese. But I was more impressed with the taste of Fried Fish Curry with spicy amount. I like how that bit of spiciness blends well the curry and cheese. Curry sauce was very flavorful and the mozzarella cheese is the best! :)

Overall, I still recommend this Japanese Curry restaurant in SM Megamall. Definitely we’ll be back for more. :)

Last October 17, I and my high school friend Jumi was supposed to attend the first foodie event in Marikina, The Lilac St Food Fest.

Saw the photos uploaded around afternoon. And there weren’t that much people at that time. It was a rainy day so we supposed people opted to stay inside their homes. We already came at Lilac St around 5:30 or 6pm and was surprised to see LOTS of people who came to the event. Stalls and seats were already full and the line for orders were really long. Though it was raining, place was really hot due to the crowd. So we just decided to walk going to Empireshop Building to try some restaurants around the place.

We decided to try Leon’s Bistro as there were 2 avail seats that was perfect for us. Even though there were a lot of people that time, I think the place is nice, clean and comfy. Upon seating, we were immediately handed the menu.

Here’s the menu I got from zomato.com (but I believed that some of the prices went up.

Here’s what we ordered:

Japanese Seafood Carbonara (Php175)

- I really love pasta and white sauce so I ordered this one. Their Japanese Seafood Carbonara really amazes me as the combination of the white sauce and seafood toppings compliments well. Servings given were quite enough for me.

Bacon Wrapped Beef Tenderloin Medallion with Mashed Potato (Php330)

- I only tasted a bit of this dish (as this was Jumi’s order), the taste was really delish. The tenderloin medallion combines well with the mashed potato and the sauce. Servings given were also a lot.

**Both of the meals were definitely delish. Though along the way, there was “umay” factor as we were both eating just 1 meal. So sometimes we just tasted each other’s food for that “pang alis umay” haha :)

Overall, I think I had a nice experience dining at this place. Foods was all okay but I think prices are quite high end especially for foodtrips. But if you want a nice dining food experience with high quality foods, I think this one of the restaurants in Lilac St I can totally recommend for you. :)

Btw, I met KC from http://astroboyisagirl.wordpress.com at Lilac Food fest last Saturday and she’s really nice :) She’s one of the best food bloggers in Marikina that’s why I was really glad that I finally met her that day. We just had a small talk about food stuffs. Hope to have food trips with her in the future :)

BUBBA LAB
After eating at Leon’s Bistro, we headed at Bubbalab in C&P Mall, just near our alma mater (St.Scho Marikina).

Since I already heard that Frappes are really great here compared to milk teas, I ordered their Salted Caramel Frappe with Coffee Jelly.

Their Salted Caramel Frappe with Coffee Jelly is the best! I really liked the taste of combined salted caramel + the coffee jelly included. Just a caution with drinking this ahead as their coffee jelly is really strong. I had palpitations and some tremors so I drank lots of water to that time. Haha

This time I was able to appreciate the place as when we went there, there weren’t much people around. We even changed seats thrice! Haha

Hello to this newly opened burger stop which opened last September 26, 88 Tavern.

Place is located at the first floor of ACC Building in Sapphire St Marikina. If you’re familiar with Mad Mustard & Chopped, they’re on the same street, near St Paul Parish.

This is a non-air con tiny place as it can only accommodate maybe 8-9 people sitting inside but don’t worry cause they have more tables and chairs placed outside. No worries since the place is really nice and cool.

Designs on the place are also simple as photos of their foods can be seen at the other side of the wall.

It’s also a pay first before order and a menu can be seen on their counter.

Here’s what we ordered:

Cheesy Tavern (Php135)

-  This consists of their burger patty, tomatoes, bacons, and lots of cheese alongside a small serving of fries. It is flavorful and I love how everything just tastes so good. Cheese was really overwhelming, which I really really liked :))

Decker Tavern (Php160)

- This is their signature double patty burger that was really huge. This also comes with a small serving of fries.

88 Tavern Fries (Php60)

- Signature fries of 88 Tavern. With a combination of distinct sweet & cheesy fries, I think this is really something worth to try. Though servings was quite adequate.

With the rise of different burger joints in Lilac St, I think 88 Tavern may still need to improve more when it comes to distinct signature taste of burgers and much more serving size. (I know they just opened a few weeks ago and maybe they’re still observing and adjusting).  Overall, I think their signature fries was very distinct and totally recommended :)

A few days ago, I and some of my college barkada (Kiseeeg) met up at Marikina for a food trip in Lilac Street. I suggested to try the newly opened Tokyo Tempura in Rainbow St to try their UNLIMITED TEMPURA for Php199 only!

Going to the place isn’t that hard. Just ride a jeep/fx with a signage of SSS and asked to be dropped off at Lilac St. Walk straight until you find China Bank beside the public school. The street right there is Rainbow St and you have to walk to be able to see Tokyo Tempura (if you’re familiar with Some Kind of Wonderful, they’re on the same street).

We went around 7pm but the place was full. We were asked if we’re willing to wait since they can’t put more seats outside due to the bad weather. The guy who was in charge of the place (I think) said that place is always full especially around that time. Good thing after around 10-15 minutes, we were able to seat inside.

This small place has a lot of vintage designs that maybe contrast to Japanese foods they serve. They can also accommodate maybe 20-25 people with electric fans inside.

You need to order here first before they serve you the foods. :

Here’s the menu:

Seeing the menu made us think to try their Unlimited Tempura. Unlimited tempura is so tempting pricing for Php199 only. But they have Biggu Tempura Meal (9pcs) for Php 105. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish 9 pcs of tempura, what more if we ordered the unlimited ones.

So here’s what most of us ordered:

Biggu Tempura (9pcs) Php105 + rice Php20
Kani Tempura Php45
Chili cheese Tempura (Php49)
(No individual photos since I was so focused on eating and being with my friends that time. Haha)

The shrimp tempura was delish but since we’re eating 9pcs of tempura, somewhere in between, there is an “umay” factor afterwards. Good thing we also ordered Kani and Chili Cheese Tempura for a different taste. There is also wide variety of drinks offered, but I ordered Coke Vanilla.

Overall, I think this is good place to dine if you are willing to try an unlimited tempura for more than 9pcs (Good luck to your <3 haha). Place isn’t that conducive for those long talks as place can get too crowded especially if you go there at peak hours. So mind you, better go there at non – peak hours. But this is something I highly recommend especially for those who has big appetite for tempuras :)

Afterwards, we went at Pink Chiffon for desserts and some chit chat. I have dined here already and blogged about it last year.

Here’s what we ordered this time:

Sansrival

Apple Pie

Cupcake

Sorry if I’m not familiar with the name and prices since my friends were the one who ordered here.

But I have a photo at Pink Chiffon’s lovely floral wall. :))))))))))
